Leading a team of engineers, lighting designers, and cost estimators, Supermass Studio developed a master plan, a community engagement process, budget, and an implementation strategy for six key park areas along the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Rapids, all aimed to reconnect the city to its river in a sustainable fashion and initiate an economic renaissance for the downtown area. The master plan includes the design of an adventure playground at one of riverfront parks. Zoned play areas are created topographically with earthwork that emerge from the adjacent embankment slope. An accessible path built on top of one of the berms brings people down to the lower park area from the elevated sidewalk. Supermass Studio was also commissioned for Phase 2 and successfully implemented the design at two key priority areas identified by the city.
