Firm Profile

Supermass Studio works at the intersection of landscape, urbanism, and the public realm. The practice understands landscape architecture as civic ground — the terrain where cities take shape through the lives of the people who inhabit them. Each project begins with the recognition that landscape is social as much as spatial, shaping how people connect, remember, and belong.

Civic Empathy

Emerging from the generation that explored landscape as the structure of contemporary urban life, the practice extends that foundation toward a more human and civic dimension. Its work combines analytical rigor into civic empathy, translating complex urban and ecological systems into spaces that are clear in structure, inclusive in use, and open in spirit.

Landscape of Care

Supermass Studio approaches each project as an inquiry into how the built environment can sustain civic life. Its method begins with investigation and listening and leads to design that clarifies and humanizes real conditions. The practice works through direct engagement with the world — an approach that begins with listening and builds through trust, shaping what the firm has come to understand as a landscape of care, one that grounds the lived life of people within the larger landscape they inhabit.

Supermass Studio is a certified Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) in New York City, New York State, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
