Mapping the Crisis: Perception & Reality

Mapping the Crisis: Perception & Reality is a personal journey through the international design practice of landscape architect Taewook Cha. The project examines and interprets the various types of crisis as we face them every day in different regions, cultures and climates across the globe. In each case, the reality of crisis is hard to grasp and the perception of crisis is often strikingly different. The project identifies six key types of crisis: existence, fear, habitat, system, heritage and pleasure. Instead of making generalizations about the nature of crisis, the project attempts to capture and document particular moments in each case, and apply these towards more site-specific solutions.
